gift will help support the Conservancy’s Volunteer Stewardship
Exchange (VSE), a service that connects volunteers with conservation
activities that match their skills and interests. The VSE has particular
success preparing volunteers to assist research scientists studying the

affiliate of the national CCA, the CCAF seeks to protect and conserve
Florida's marine resources. These funds will be used to increase

Florida
Keys Marine Laboratory

in Layton, the Keys Marine Lab facility hosts 100 marine research and
education projects yearly. The facility offers dorm style housing, boats
with operators, experiment holding facilities, wet & dry labs and
collecting assistance to off-site researchers.
The lab facilitates research in this unique and delicate
environment. GMBT donations will purchase aquarium tanks for research
purposes.

incorporates other priority issues, including aquatic and marine

Biscayne Area Restoration Trust

BART is a newly formed public
foundation created in memory of the late Bart Eroncig. The trust seeks
to protect, preserve and revitalize the marine ecosystem of Biscayne Bay
and its surrounding areas.

Capt.
Harry Vernon, Jr. Scholarship Fund

newly established scholarship fund has been created as a dedication for
the late Capt. Harry. The scholarship is awarded to a worthy student
studying billfish conservation research. The GMBT award is matched by
Capt. Vernon's wife.
This year's scholarship was awarded to Stacey Luthy, studying at
the UM Rosenstiel School.

organization was established to introduce fishing to underprivileged
children in South Florida. In addition to this donation, as part of our
annual event, we sponsor Youth Fishing Day for a group of inner city
kids to experience the joys of fishing.
National
Coalition for Marine Conservation $1,500

NCMC is the nation's oldest public advocacy group dedicated exclusively
to conserving ocean fish and their environment. Their mission is to
build awareness of the crises facing our marine fisheries, and convince
policy-makers to reverse the depletion of publicly owned fishery
resources. Our donation will be used to print materials for NCMC’s
membership drive this year, which will substantially expand outreach
among fishing clubs and tournament anglers nationwide.

organization is working towards educating the boating and fishing
industries to reduce marine debris and increase awareness of its impact
on the environment and economy. GMBT funds will pay for the printing of
educational brochures and plastic garbage bags.

Pelican Harbor Seabird Station,
Inc.

non profit station is dedicated to rehabilitating and releasing injured
seabirds in the Biscayne Bay area, focusing mainly on Brown Pelicans,
which are on the threatened species list. Our funding will purchase
necessary veterinary supplies.

preserve and responsibly enhance fish populations in an environmentally
sustainable manner. Our funds are earmarked to purchase incentive prizes
