Our donation funds the International Tagging Program, which distributes tags and tagging information to fishing tournaments and clubs worldwide. The Nature Conservancy $7,500
This gift will help support the Conservancy's Volunteer Stewardship Exchange (VSE), a service that connects volunteers with conservation activities that match their skills and interests. Florida Sea Grant $3,500
This organization is working towards educating the boating and fishing industries to reduce marine debris and increase awareness of its impact on the environment and economy. GMBT funds will pay for the printing of pelican signs and buckets with educational messages. (305-361-4017)

International Game Fish Association $4,000
This organization keeps world records and historical artifacts and data on fishing worldwide. IGFA also established and upholds ethical angling standards for world record and everyday catches. Our donation will be directed to their Junior Angler Program. (954-941-3474)

B.A.R.T. Biscayne Area Restoration Trust $500
BART is a newly formed public foundation created in memory of the late Bart Eroncig. The trust seeks to protect, preserve and revitalize the marine ecosystem of Biscayne Bay and its surrounding areas. (305-285-0667)

Circle Hook Movement $2,500
As part of the continuing promotions of the Circle Hook Movement, in a joint grant with Eagle Claw and the Presidential Challenge, GMBT paid for charts outlining the details on the use of circle hooks, which will be distributed internationally.

Ladies Let’s Go Fishing $700
This organization encourages and educates women on fishing conservation and technique. Our donation will be used to print needed promotional materials for this group. (954-475-9068)

The Officer Snook Program $3,800
This program focuses on educating the youth on water pollution prevention. It incorporates other priority issues, including aquatic and marine ecosystem education and environmental sustainability. Our donation will pay for printed materials for students and educators. (305-672-7675) 

Capt. Harry Vernon, Jr. Scholarship Fund $3,000
This newly established scholarship fund has been created as a dedication for the late Capt. Harry. The scholarship is awarded to a worthy student studying billfish conservation research. The GMBT award is matched by Capt. Vernon's wife, Joan. This year's scholarship was split between Stacy Luthy and Mike Freeley, both studying at University of Miami Rosenstiel School. (305-361-9258)

This scientific research organization was formed as a collaboration between the artist and the Oceanographic Center of Nova Southeasten University. Our donation will be directed towards biological scientific studies and research for the restoration, enhancement and biodiversity maintenance of the world’s wild fish resources.

This organization was established to introduce fishing to underprivileged children in South Florida. Our donation will be directed to assist in the development of a fish pond. The NCMC is the nation's oldest public advocacy group dedicated exclusively to conserving ocean fish and their environment. Our donation will be used to assist in their website development and to cover printing costs for their Public Awareness Campaign. (703-777-0037)

The Center for Environmental Education and Research provides education programs to the public and community to help ensure our environment and waterways remain safe and clean, as well as teaching safe boating. Pelican Harbor Seabird Station, Inc. $2,000
This non-profit station is dedicated to rehabilitating and releasing injured seabirds in the Biscayne Bay area, focusing mainly on Brown Pelicans, which are on the threatened species list. Our funding will purchase necessary veterinary supplies. (305-751-9840)

Coastal Conservation Association of Florida $4,000
An affiliate of the national CCA, the CCAF seeks to protect and conserve Florida's marine resources. These funds will be used to establish a grassroots alert and advocacy network with angler groups in South Florida. (407-672-2058)

Florida Keys Marine Laboratory $2,500
Located in Layton, the Keys Marine Lab facility hosts 100 marine research and education projects yearly. The facility offers dorm style housing, boats with operators, experiment holding facilities, wet & dry labs and collecting assistance to off-site researchers. The lab facilitates research in this unique and delicate environment. GMBT donations will purchase a digital camera with underwater housing as well as an air compressor. (305-664-9101)
